This is a pretty famous Ipoh Chicken Rice shop in Jalan Gasing. My parents took me to this place to eat quite frequently when I was a kid, according to the signboard the shop is as old as I am.

Phew... this has been a project that is a few WEEKS in the works already, thanks to the fact that I've been just swamped with work. But.. now, it's almost over already. But my 3RODDED XBox 360 is almost back in action. Here's the patient on the operation table.

The PSP (Hmm.. I haven't talked about this on my blog yet have I?) makes a GREAT debugging tool for this purpose.. it's small.. compact.. and yet is able to act as a video monitor to test wheter the box is working or not. No need to fumble with a big 14" display on an already small cramped work table.

We were rushing for time, and after a few more extra modifications we didn't even have enough time to put everything back properly yet. So...

This will have to suffice so we can finish the fight!

Every now and then something happens that makes you wish you could just be irresponsible and call in sick. I'm feeling that need right now. God.. why must they torment me this way?

Why I don't take the train during peak hours
Because while tons of people get on the train at nearly every stop, the majority of the people only get off at 3 stops. Masjid Jamek, Pasar Seni and KLCC. That means.. the train is a very packed can of sardines.

Why I don't drive into KL during peak hours
Do I really need to say why?

Why I don't like parking in KLCC
God damnit, do you know how FREAKING EXPENSIVE parking is there now? Gheeezz.. I guess the I must not be part of their target market if I have a problem with RM10 parking for 3 hours. And I don't think they have a MAXIUM parking charge, they'll just keep taking your money!

So Tech Ed started yesterday, as I am one of the presenters I got to sit in the front row during the launch keynote. The keynote started off with a little cultural dance ditty. Then the first surprise, the hall had them cool lasers to draw nice little animations on the wall (yes in retrospect I *should* have taken a video).

Everything was nice and cool, until they got to the end and.. *BANG* sparklers start shooting out from the tip at the floor of the stage. I got shocked but I was still cool until the 2nd *BANG* that's when the sparklers start shooting out from the CEILING, no less than 3 rows of seats in front of me, so I had fire raining down barely 3 meters in front of me, and there I was, notebook out on my lap, mouth opened, gasping in terror at the scene. But I guess I wasn't in as bad a situation as the lady that was sitting right in front/under one of them sparkler emitters. I could see her staring in shock at the sparklers as well.

Luckily everything was fire free after that.

We took WZ out to One Utama again today, we don't do that too often. And he's starting to hate sitting in his stroller without anyway to move. But.. he was ever so attracted to the little fan that was cooling him. in fact.. he wanted it SO MUCH..

A few seconds later... WZ ripped out the fan head.

Luckily it was meant to come off... but the fact that he could actually do it sure gave me a shock, the thing doesn't exactly come off that easily

So... Silverlight 1.0 has been released already, and I'm pretty sure we're going to be treated with the onslaught of Silverlight content which have been created for the sake of it... Just like what happened when Flash first came into the scene.

Can we take it easier this time, and not have that many sites where we don't have to sit through senseless animations?

So... Silverlight 1.0 has gone live... personally I feel a bit bummed that there's no Windows 2000 support since that would have allowed me to push it to some of the clients. But... it's a start I guess!

Let's see how things work out!

That's nice.. Palm realizes that the Foleo is a mistake and has decided to nip it in the bud before it can kill the entire company. Must have been a painful decision, heck. I'm sure all the manufacturing contracts and stuff must have al been signed and agreed upon already. But.. it's the right decision, I personally never understood the need for the Foleo and am glad for Palm the POS isn't coming out.

It was 11PM, probably the latest WZ has been up ever since he was 3 months old.. and he didn't look like he wanted to sleep. His eyes was bursting with life, not glazed over with tiredness. So I tell him... Please WZ, sleep so daddy can finish his work.

This was his response.

The Malaysian leg of Tech Ed will be held next week at the KLCC (Convention Center, not the shopping mall) And I'll be there to take lead of the ASP.Net Atlas Instructor Led Lab.

But as a pre conference event there's a little party happening at Bangsar Village on the 9th. There'll be lotsa fun & games, coffee...(since it's in a Starbucks) and LOTSA EXPENSIVE PRIZES (that's what the organizer tells me lar) So be sure to check it out if you're a member of the industry.

More details here.

So.. WZ knows how to slide off the bed. But he also knows how to climb up short flights of stairs. This is the same flight of stairs he rolled off previously, so it's nice to know he doesn't remember the accident. Then again he's looking at it from another angle now.

The background is a bit noisy cause my brother was trying out the Bioshock demo.
