So Tech Ed started yesterday, as I am one of the presenters I got to sit in the front row during the launch keynote. The keynote started off with a little cultural dance ditty. Then the first surprise, the hall had them cool lasers to draw nice little animations on the wall (yes in retrospect I *should* have taken a video).

Everything was nice and cool, until they got to the end and.. *BANG* sparklers start shooting out from the tip at the floor of the stage. I got shocked but I was still cool until the 2nd *BANG* that's when the sparklers start shooting out from the CEILING, no less than 3 rows of seats in front of me, so I had fire raining down barely 3 meters in front of me, and there I was, notebook out on my lap, mouth opened, gasping in terror at the scene. But I guess I wasn't in as bad a situation as the lady that was sitting right in front/under one of them sparkler emitters. I could see her staring in shock at the sparklers as well.

Luckily everything was fire free after that.

We took WZ out to One Utama again today, we don't do that too often. And he's starting to hate sitting in his stroller without anyway to move. But.. he was ever so attracted to the little fan that was cooling him. in fact.. he wanted it SO MUCH..

A few seconds later... WZ ripped out the fan head.

Luckily it was meant to come off... but the fact that he could actually do it sure gave me a shock, the thing doesn't exactly come off that easily

So... Silverlight 1.0 has been released already, and I'm pretty sure we're going to be treated with the onslaught of Silverlight content which have been created for the sake of it... Just like what happened when Flash first came into the scene.

Can we take it easier this time, and not have that many sites where we don't have to sit through senseless animations?

So... Silverlight 1.0 has gone live... personally I feel a bit bummed that there's no Windows 2000 support since that would have allowed me to push it to some of the clients. But... it's a start I guess!

Let's see how things work out!

That's nice.. Palm realizes that the Foleo is a mistake and has decided to nip it in the bud before it can kill the entire company. Must have been a painful decision, heck. I'm sure all the manufacturing contracts and stuff must have al been signed and agreed upon already. But.. it's the right decision, I personally never understood the need for the Foleo and am glad for Palm the POS isn't coming out.
